From our patients
Are you looking to create a youthful look and to restore self-confidence? Hair transplantation surgery can help you regain your self-confidence and attain a youthful, natural-looking appearance.
Hair restoration is an aesthetic procedure performed on men and women experiencing significant hair loss, baldness or thinning hair. Hair loss in men can be caused due to genetic factors and age.
Male pattern baldness, where the hairline slowly recedes to reveal more of the forehead, is the most common form of male hair loss. Men can also experience hair thinning at the crown or the very top of the head.
On the other hand, hair loss in women is induced by hormonal changes and is be a mild thinning of hair than the entire head. Transplants can be also performed to replace hair lost due to burns, injury, or diseases of the scalp.
Why consider hair transplantation to treat hair loss?
Of all the hair loss solutions, hair transplantation is the only predictable and lasting remedy to hair loss. Needless to say, the most evident benefit of having hair transplants is the aesthetic change the treatment delivers to hair loss patients.
Having a head full of healthy hair can help restore self-esteem, ease insecurities and improve a person’s social and career life. Thanks to consistently advancing medical technology and practices, hair transplant results look extremely natural and undetectable.
Since hair restoration specialists use the person’s own hair, the transplanted follicles will continue to grow through out the individual’s life.
Follicular unit Extraction (FUE)
The most popular technique in hair transplant practice is follicular unit extraction (FUE). During follicular unit hair transplant surgery, hair restoration specialist uses a specialized punch with less than 1mm diameter to extract the hair from the scalp.
One of the main advantages of this technique is that follicular units are extracted directly from the scalp rather than in larger groups, like in the strip method which eliminates the utilization of scalpel and stitching.
Our hair transplant experts possess the special know-how and sound practice to perform this procedure effectively and with the most natural results.
The micrografts used by our hair transplant specialists can mimic this natural pattern allowing hair grafts to grow out normally. Because the newly transplanted hair is extracted from a healthy patch of the person’s head (donor area), it will continue to grow in its natural pattern for the rest of their life - seamlessly blending with the existing hair.
Mesotherapy for hair loss
Mesotherapy is a non-invasive treatment used to hair thinning, female hair loss due to heredity factors as well as hormonal imbalances, male pattern baldness. It can help promote thicker, stronger and healthier hair.
Mesotherapy formula is injected directly into the scalp where the hair loss is experienced. The formula is comprised of vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants, plant extracts, homeopathic and traditional western medications.
Mesotherapy formula is designed to stimulate follicular growth and help restore growth and original hair color.
By applying mesotherapy formal directly to the hair follicles, the effectiveness is multiplied; hence the results are more remarkable. The mixture also contains a Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) blocking agent to counteract the problem of androgenic alopecia and telogen effluvium.
The result is improved blood circulation causing the hair follicles to be better nourished, prompting hair growth. Mesotherapy is virtually painless, requires no downtime and is an effective treatment for hair loss.
Paletlet rich plasma (PRP)
By initiating the first step of coagulation, platelets are the key to the body’s ability to heal wounds. It is thought that by increasing the platelet count in a wounded area, the body’s healing to that area would be accelerated explaining the use of PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) in wound healing.
Platelet rich plasma is concentrated blood plasma which contains approximately five times the number of platelets found in normal circulating blood.
In addition, blood plasma contains the growth factors PDGF and VEGF and other bioactive proteins that aid in wound healing.
Re-grow your own hair in one simple safe procedure…no surgery, no downtime. PRP hair treatment has been widely recognized throughout the medical community as a safe and cost-effective method for alleviating hair loss, patients can expect an improvement in density and thickness in the areas that are concerning them.
In a nutshell, the PRP hair treatment is injected into the scalp, causing miniaturized hair follicles to become healthier and larger, producing more robust hair growth. The future of medicine has arrived for our clients today.
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) cell therapy is an innovative, safe process that grows hair using your body’s own cells.
These concentrated platelets contain proteins and growth factors which help stimulate hair follicle growth, increase circulation to hair follicles and decrease inflammation. A small amount of blood is drawn from the patient. It is then centrifuged for 15 minutes.
Once centrifuged, the PRP taken from the blood is then injected and spread with a scalp roller into the scalp or areas of hair loss. The roller head has specially treated high strength stainless needles – when rolled on to the head it creates microscopic channels that allow the PRP to penetrate deep into the skin into the hair follicles. Prior to injecting the PRP, the scalp is cleansed and numbed. Pain after treatment is minimal and patients are able to resume normal activities after this procedure.
Hair growth is typically seen in three to four months.
Men or women who have male or female pattern baldness are suitable candidates for PRP (the earlier this is treated the better the outcome). It is also suitable for men or women who are currently using hair loss medications; or those who are experiencing or expect to experience post-partum hair loss. It is also suitable for those who have had or plan to have hair transplant surgery. This treatment is not recommended for women that are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Generally treatments are recommended every 4-6 months for the first year. After that, maintenance treatments may be required yearly. This treatment can be performed on its own, but if you are currently taking hair loss medications or supplements or are using Minoxidil Lotion, we recommend continuing with these products for optimum results. Finasteride can be taken with this treatment.
Hair Transplant Results
One of several medications may be suggested by your surgeon for use after hair transplant surgery. The GraftCyte® line is produced by a company that specializes in wound therapy medications and includes moist dressing, shampoo, and conditioner.
Oral anti-baldness medications such as finasteride and topical preparations such as minoxidil are often recommended to supplement hair transplant surgery. Your surgeon will evaluate your case and recommend an appropriate post-surgical regimen to achieve the best possible results.
Hair Transplant Recovery
After all of the micrografts have been placed in the scalp, the hair transplantation patient will have stubble in the transplant areas as well as some minor scabbing. The affected scalp should heal rapidly, as should the sutured incision from the donor area. The transplanted hair will fall out after a few weeks, as the hair goes into the resting phase initially. In several months, the hair will start its growing phase again, and the hair should grow at a normal rate.
Follicles transplanted during surgical hair restoration are not usually sensitive to the same biological influences as the original follicles in the balding area of the scalp and should therefore produce hair just as they did in the donor area.
